UTRGV offers scholarship programs to recognize students for their exceptional academic achievements.

Scholarships and Enrollment Communication is a department dedicated to helping students finance their education by providing information about scholarship programs, the application process, and other related questions.

Scholarships are financial aids that do not require repayment and are based on various prerequisites.

Source of UTRGV scholarships

They are made possible through the generosity of businesses, organizations, individuals, and University endowed funds.

UTRGV offers scholarships to entering freshmen, transfer students, graduate students, and undergraduate students based on merit, need, and achievement in academics, athletics, the arts, or other scholarly areas.

It is important to note that federal financial aid policies prohibit awarding students in excess of their need or overall cost of attendance.

Therefore, students who have received aid in excess of their need or COA may have their UTRGV institutional scholarship(s) reduced or canceled.

In addition, if a better funding source is found, the Scholarship and Enrollment Communications Office may substitute a scholarship.

UTRGV Scholarships Eligibility

Furthermore, eligibility for UTRGV scholarships is limited to students who are not related within the third degree of consanguinity to a current member of the governing board of the institution or system administering or originating the scholarship.
