One year of continuous union membership by the applicant, spouse, or parent (if applicant is a dependent) by May 31, 2023
Members from the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada eligible
Awards must be used for the 2023-2024 school year
Open to undergraduate and graduate students

Requirements For Union Plus Scholarship 2023
Information and requirements include:
1.One letter of reference from a teacher or other adult familiar with your achievements and abilities.
2.Two essays, each approximately 350 words:
a. Essay 1: Choose one of the following questions:
– Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
-Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?
b. Essay 2: Describe your relationship with the union and the labor movement.
Explain how it has personally affected your life and your family’s life.
3.Union information:

- Local union number
- Local union’s address and phone number
- Name of the local union President or Business Manager
- Provide this information for your union, your spouse’s union, or your parent’s union (if you are a dependent). If affiliated with multiple unions, list the information for all.
