UCLA Regents Scholarship

Eligibility requirements for the UCLA Regents Scholarship:

• U.S. citizenship, eligible non-citizen status, or eligible visa status
• Current high school senior
• Accepted for admission to UCLA as an undergraduate student
• Cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher
• Demonstrated leadership in school and community activities
• Demonstrated financial need determined by the federal government and UCLA’s Financial Aid Office
• Exceptional academic achievement and personal qualities of leadership and service
• Submission of two letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors
• Submission of a personal statement and essay outlining educational goals and career aspirations

Application Process for UCLA Regents Scholarship:

1. Submit an application to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA): Complete the online application for admission and submit it to UCLA.
2. Submit a Resume/CV: Provide a resume or CV to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, detailing academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and relevant experiences.
3. Submit an Official Transcript: Provide an official high school transcript or, for transfer students, an official transcript from the previous institution.
4. Submit the UCLA Regents Scholarship Application: Complete the UCLA Regents Scholarship application, including a personal statement and three letters of recommendation.
5. Submit Additional Documentation: Additional supporting documents may be required and should be submitted as requested.
6. Participate in an Interview: Selected applicants will be invited to interview with the UCLA Regents Scholarship Committee.
7. Submit a Final Application: After the interview, submit the final application package to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
8. Receive Award Notification: Applicants will be notified by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships regarding the status of their application.

Renewal Requirements

Requirements for Maintaining the UCLA Regents Scholarship:

1. Maintain full-time student status, taking a minimum of 12 credits per quarter, at the University of California, Los Angeles.
2. Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 each quarter.
3. Complete at least 30 units of coursework per academic year (Fall, Winter, Spring).
4. Submit the UCLA Regents Scholarship Renewal Application by the specified deadline each year.
5. Demonstrate financial need as determined by the UCLA Financial Aid Office.
6. Remain in good standing with the University.
7. Participate in required workshops, seminars, and/or other activities as requested by the Regents Scholarship Office.
8. Submit a written report at the end of the academic year, detailing activities, accomplishments, and goals.
9. Take part in the Regents Scholarship Summer Internship Program.
10. Fulfill required community service hours as determined by the Regents Scholarship Office.
11. Attend Regents Scholarship events as requested by the Regents Scholarship Office.
