Tarleton Scholarships

The Tarleton scholarships consist of 1174 scholarships offered by Tarleton State University to both in-state and international students.

These scholarships provide financial assistance and vary in their amounts, starting from $500 per academic year.

The Tarleton scholarships are categorized into three types:

1. Academic awards,
2. Leadership awards,

Eligible Programs And Requirements

• The Tarleton scholarships are divided into two types: general scholarships and program-specific scholarships.
• General scholarships can be applied for without considering the specific program of study and can fall under any of the three scholarship segments.
• Program-specific scholarships have restrictions based on rules set by the sponsors or donors, such as targeting applicants from specific colleges or requiring certain majors.
• Some scholarships target students based on personality or background, such as single parents studying education.

  Eligibility and requirements for Tarleton scholarships are as follows:

  General Scholarships:

  • Must apply to be a student at Tarleton State University (Freshman/Transfer/Returning student).
  • Must be admitted to Tarleton State University to claim the award.
  • Must have SAT/ACT scores.

  Freshman:

  • Must have graduated in the Top 25% of their high school class.
  • Must have a minimum SAT score of 1000 (old SAT) or 1080 (new SAT), or a minimum ACT score of 28.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills for Leadership Awards.
  • Must demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA for Need-Based Awards.
  • First-generation students have a higher chance of receiving the scholarship.

  Transfer/Returning Students:

  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for Academic Awards.
  • Must have a GPA of at least 2.75 for Leadership Awards.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills for Leadership Awards.
  • Must demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA and have a GPA of at least 2.4 for Need-Based Awards.
  • First-generation students have a higher chance of receiving the scholarship.

You need to present the following documents during your Tarleton scholarships application:

• Academic transcripts
• FAFSA details
• General essay
• Scholarship-specific essay (if required)
• Test scores sent directly from the test center
