Mike Rowe Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants for the Mike Rowe Sweat Pledge scholarship must meet the following education criteria:
- High school seniors, graduates, or GED equivalent
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited two-year college, technical school, vocational, or other approved technical institute in the United States
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in an approved vocational or similar trade-related program
- Planning to complete their trade-related program after December 1, 2020
- Past recipients of the Mike Rowe Scholarship Foundation Educational Scholarships are not eligible for the Mike Rowe Sweat Pledge scholarship.
Documents Required for Mike Rowe Scholarships
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must provide the following documents:
- Completed School Cost Form.
- Copy of page one from the most recently filed IRS Form 1040.
- Completed S.W.E.A.T. Pledge Short Answer Questions.
- Transcript of grades: Include high school, vo-tech, or college transcripts from each school attended. Grade reports are accepted.
- Two (2) completed Reference Questionnaires.
- Signed S.W.E.A.T. Pledge.
Mike Rowe Scholarship Application Procedure
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must follow these application procedures:
- Enroll in an approved program.
- Sign up for the Mike Rowe S.W.E.A.T. Pledge.
- Answer three questions as part of the application.
- Write an essay on a given topic and submit it with the application.
- Provide at least two references from bosses or teachers.
- Create a 45-60 second video titled “2021 Work Ethic Applicant – [Applicant First Name] [Last Name].” The video should not contain trademarks, service marks, or music.
- Upload the video to YouTube following YouTube’s standard upload instructions and settings. Make the video public and include the URL in the application.
- By submitting the YouTube video link, the participants in the video give their consent for its use in promotion by the mikeroweWORKS Foundation and its scholarship sponsors.
- State the exact tuition and fees of the applicant.
- Upload high school or college transcripts to demonstrate academic performance.
- Provide proof of financial standing as part of the application.
Mike Rowe Scholarships Reward
- A total of $400,000 will be allocated for the latest program.
- Selected applicants will receive a one-time award.
- The scholarship will specifically cover tuition fees for a vocational or trade-related program.
- There is no predetermined maximum limit for the scholarship amount.
