Laptop Scholarship Opportunities: Bridging the Digital Divide

The Laptop Scholarship, designed to assist incoming traditional and full-time baccalaureate degree or accelerated baccalaureate degree-seeking students in acquiring a laptop.

Aims to alleviate the financial challenges associated with higher education.

In addition to tuition and housing costs, students encounter various other financial burdens during their pursuit of higher education.

Consequently, this scholarship serves as a valuable resource for bridging the financial gap.

Each semester, one lucky student is awarded a 13-inch MacBook Air, which is procured from the NYU Computer Store.

Eligibility Requirements for the Laptop Scholarship:

  • Student Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled as either traditional full-time baccalaureate or accelerated baccalaureate degree-seeking students.
  • Financial Aid Filing: Applicants are required to have a valid FAFSA filed for the current academic year.
  • Donor Profile: If selected, applicants must complete a World of Thanks Profile for the donor.
  • Application Materials: Candidates must submit the following:
    • A current resume
    • Unofficial transcript
    • Personal statement of 500 words or less addressing financial need and how the award will benefit their education at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing.

  1. MCAD Laptop Scholarship

    Note: This scholarship covers the full cost of an MCAD-configured laptop computer and is exclusive to MCAD.

  2. Computers 4 People College-Bound Laptop Scholarship

    Application Process:

    • Submit an individual application.
    • Include a recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor.
    • The teacher/counselor uploads the recommendation letter through automatic email.

    Awardees:

    • Decision sent via email by May 19th.
    • Free laptop delivered to the high school, coordinated with the recommender.
    • Up to 10 scholars chosen per high school.
