Knights Of Columbus Scholarship

The Knights of Columbus, promotes and supports Catholic elementary education opportunities through its Knights of Columbus Scholarship Program.

Its officers administer the scholarship program, which is funded by donations to the Church of Nativity Knights of Columbus.

They award the scholarships to families in need of financial assistance for enrolling their child/children in Nativity Catholic School.

As of September 2023, the application process is open to current and new Nativity Catholic School students entering grades kindergarten through eighth.

The Scholarship Committee places emphasis on financial need and awards scholarship assistance without considering race, color, gender, national origin, or creed.

Knights Of Columbus Scholarship Eligibility

Each candidate must be at least one of the following:

Currently paid-up members of a Knights of Columbus Council in Pennsylvania.

Children or stepchildren of currently paid-up members of a Knights of Columbus Council in Pennsylvania.

Children or stepchildren of deceased members of the Knights of Columbus in a Pennsylvania council who were not in arrears at the time of their death.

  • Additional conditions for eligibility are as follows:

The candidate must be a candidate for graduation in a recognized 4-year high school or its homeschooling equivalent by June 2024.

The candidate must submit a properly completed application form, with all required signatures, no later than December 31, 2023.

The applicant’s council must have completed and submitted Form 185 (Report of Officers Chosen for Term).

The council of the applicant’s father must sell at least 75 “Chance of a Lifetime” (C.O.A.L.) Chances for the 2023-2024 campaign.

Tickets are distributed by the State Council Charities Committee.

  • Final acceptance of the scholarship is contingent on the following:

Each candidate must be accepted and enrolled at either a college/university.

The chosen college or school may be under Catholic or non-Catholic auspices, subject to approval by the committee.

Knights Of Columbus Scholarship Award

The Scholarship Committee,  will determine the three (3) most deserving applicants for the scholarships.

Each recipient of the scholarship will receive a scholarship certificate.

The responsibility of presenting the scholarship certificate to the high school guidance counselor for the announcement of the award at the graduation ceremonies lies with the applicant.
