To qualify for the Tradesman Exam, the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners mandates 24 hours of training starting from February 1, 2010.
For the Journeyman Exam, 48 hours of training are required.
The initial 24-hour training includes 8 hours of residential plumbing code, 10 hours of OSHA, and 6 hours of Continuing Education.
The additional 24-hour training consists of 18 hours of plumbing code and 6 hours of Continuing Education.
With the removal of COVID mandates, the Journeyman exam now requires the second Continuing Education class again.
