Indiana Choice Scholarship 2023-24

The Indiana Choice Scholarship Program is an initiative designed to offer financial support to qualifying families in Indiana

The program allowing them to access private education at a participating school of their prefer

Importantly, it allows us to maintain autonomy in our curriculum.

The voucher amount is determined by factors such as your household size, income, and the school district of residence.

Estimated vouchers can vary significantly, typically ranging from around $5,400 to $7,400 per student per school year.

Eligibility for Indiana Choice Scholarship

To qualify for the Indiana Choice voucher, students must meet specific eligibility criteria, which include:

1. Age Requirement: Students should be between the ages of 5 and 22.

2. Income Requirements: Families must meet income criteria for the 2022–2023 academic year, with the annual income not exceeding 300% of the amount required for the student to qualify for the federal Free or Reduced Lunch program (FRL). The income limits per household number are as follows:

Eligibility Requirements for Students:

Students can qualify for the Indiana Choice Scholarship based on various conditions, which include:

  1. Previous Participation: The student received a Choice Scholarship in the previous year.
  2. Continued Participation: The student previously received a Choice Scholarship and, either: a. Received a voucher two or more years before applying, or b. Received the voucher in the immediately preceding school year but left the program before the end of the school year.
  3. Individualized Education Plan (IEP): The student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  4. Public School Attendance: The student attended or is planning to attend a designated F public school.
  5. Recent Public School Attendance: The student attended a public school for the preceding two semesters.
  6. Family Participation: The student or their siblings previously received a voucher or a tax-credit scholarship.
  7. Early Education Grant: The student used an Early Education Grant to attend prekindergarten at an eligible Choice Scholarship school and intends to enroll in kindergarten at this school.

Follow Admissions Process:

Follow the admissions process from start to acceptance, ensuring all steps are completed before March 2.

Apply for Financial Aid:

The Indiana Choice Scholarship application is integrated into our comprehensive Financial Aid process.

You can apply for financial aid starting on January 1 each year for the upcoming school year.

For new families joining Heritage Christian School (HCS), complete this process with the required documents and upload them by February 15.

Reserve Your Seat:

Upon notification that a seat has been reserved for you, you will have up to 7 calendar days to enroll by paying the enrollment fee.

After this period, the seat may be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Enrollment and Scholarship Application:

Once enrolled, we will take the initiative to apply for the Indiana Choice Scholarship on your behalf to the State.

Throughout the process, we will keep you informed about the status and any additional documentation required.

Late Enrollment Consideration:

Students enrolling after September 1 may still be eligible to receive an Indiana Choice Scholarship, prorated for the second semester, provided they meet the state’s eligibility requirements.
