Requirements For Program Qualification

  • Applicants must be 18 years old or older.
  • They should be active leaders in their tech community with at least 1 year of experience in organizing events, speaking at events, creating resources (such as blogs or videos), and/or mentoring others.
  • Applicants should have a genuine interest in Google technologies and be interested in further developing their skills.
  • They must be willing to actively participate in the program and commit a minimum of approximately 10 hours per quarter to execute community activities throughout the year.

  • Submit your application on the WTM Advocu site before June 30, 2023.
  • All applicants will receive notifications about their application status after July 31, 2023.

Google 2023 Conference Scholarships for African Students

Requirements for Google Conference Scholarships Qualification

  • To be eligible for a scholarship to attend an international conference, applicants must be full-time students enrolled with a recognized university in Africa and in need of conference travel funds.
  • They should have a paper accepted at a top-tier computer science conference, preferably in research areas of strong interest to Google (refer to research.google.com for the list of areas).
  • The applicant must be the sole or joint first author of the accepted paper.
  • Google employees are not eligible to apply for Google scholarships.
  • Individuals who are residents of embargoed countries, ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Application Eligibility

  • To apply, visit Google on docs.google.com.
  • The Scholarships will be awarded based on the review of applications.
  • All applicants will be notified of their status within the specified time frames for the region.
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year.
  • Eligible applicants can expect a response approximately four weeks after applying.
  •  Recommended applying well in advance of the Conference start date to allow for a payment completion timeline of 5-8 weeks.
  • Google will pay the approved travel grant funds directly to the applicant’s university.
  • The student can claim expenses using regular university procedures.
