Gates Millennium Scholarship
The Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship (GMS) for exceptional minority students was truly a remarkable program.
Each year, 1000 talented students were granted the prestigious GMS Millennium scholarship.
This scholarship was specifically aimed at minority students who demonstrated significant financial need, outstanding academic achievement, and exceptional leadership potential.
Undoubtedly, it stood among the most esteemed scholarship programs available.
The Bill Gates scholarships for minorities were strategically designed to address the underrepresentation of minority students.
This focuses on fields such as computer science, education, engineering, mathematics, library science, public health, and the sciences.
While the scholarship program supported undergraduate degrees across all majors, the aforementioned fields were primarily focused on graduate degree programs.
Students may qualify for a Millenium scholarship if they are:
- African American
- Indian or Alaska Native
- Asian Pacific Islander
- American Hispanic American
