What is Cassidy Hutchinson education?
Cassidy Hutchinson is a former White House aide and assistant to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
Meadows served during the Trump administration.
She was raised in Pennington, New Jersey.
She completed her high school education at Hopewell Valley Central High School in 2015.
Hutchinson then pursued her studies at Christopher Newport University from 2015 to 2018.
She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and American Studies.
As a first-generation college student, Hutchinson embarked on her educational journey with a focus on political science.
Career
During her time at Christopher Newport University, Hutchinson gained valuable experience through internships.
In the summer of 2016, she interned for Republican Senator Ted Cruz, and in the summer of 2017.
She also interned for Republican US House of Representatives whip Steve Scalise.
In 2018, Hutchinson served as an intern in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs.
Following her internship, she became an employee of the office.
In March 2020, when Mark Meadows became Trump’s chief of staff, he selected Hutchinson to join his team as one of his aides.
She quickly rose to the role of Meadows’ principal assistant, holding the position of Special Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Legislative Affairs.
Hutchinson worked closely with Meadows, taking notes during meetings and traveling with him to ensure effective communication of his directives.
January 6 hearings
She developed a reputation as a trusted confidante of Meadows and had a prominent role within the White House.
Hutchinson gained national attention for her testimony on June 28, 2022, at the public hearings of the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.
She provided significant insights into President Donald Trump’s conduct, as well as that of his senior aides and political allies, before and during the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Hutchinson’s testimony was widely regarded as compelling and explosive, drawing extensive media coverage.
However, she also faced severe criticism from conservative allies of Trump.
Explosive Testimony
In her testimony, Hutchinson shared crucial details about the events leading up to January 6.
These included discussions involving Oath Keepers and Proud Boys during the planning of the Save America March.
She revealed that both Meadows and Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, sought presidential pardons.
Hutchinson also testified about her conversation with White House counsel Pat Cipollone, who expressed concerns about the potential consequences of Trump’s plan to march to the Capitol with his supporters.
Additionally, she shared incidents involving Trump’s emotional outbursts within the White House, such as throwing his lunch plate against a wall in reaction to Attorney General William Barr’s statement on election fraud.
Weapons
Regarding the events of January 6, Hutchinson testified that Trump was informed that some individuals present were carrying weapons, yet he insisted on their participation and expressed indifference toward their possession of firearms.
She recounted a conversation with then-White House deputy chief of staff Tony Ornato, who informed her that Trump became irate and made physical gestures in response to being told it was too dangerous for him to proceed to the Capitol.
Hutchinson also described the concerns raised by Cipollone and Meadows as they realized the severity of the situation and the threats directed toward Vice President Mike Pence.
